Our HR advice

How to go about putting very chance on your side to succeed in interviews

“He who seeks finality seeks the means”

When you attend interview in our consultancy, you should bear in mind that you are at the first stage of a process whose aim is to get you over this initial stage and pass to interview with the customer company.

It is therefore vital that you:

  • Prepare for your interview. You will arrive serene and confident in front of the recruiter
  • Re-read your cv and identify those possible questions that the interviewer might ask
  • Make sure that you know perfectly the order and content of your different professional experiences
  • Give the interviewer concrete examples of your achievements to be convincing

Keys to a successful interview

“You will not get a second chance to make a good impression”
David SWANSON

Don’t forget that you have one hour to convince the interviewer that you are THE person for the job.
Prepare the three main phases to the interview ! Each stage is important and if they are well thought out this could give you added value for winning that all important job.

Our practical advice :

· Before the interview :

  • Organise yourself so as to be on time : arriving late is never positive for successful exchanges
  • When you meet your recruiter look him straight in the eye when you greet him and introduce yourself

· During interview :

  • Wait until you are asked to be seated
  • Take notes
  • Look at your interviewer straight in the eye
  • Don’t fiddle with any objects such as pens or rings etc
  • Smile and be cheerful
  • Never put yourself in a looser position

· After interview :

  • Ask questions and show an interest in the next stage
  • Thank your interviewer for his time
  • Send a summary of your discussions by e-mail and reconfirm your motivation

Distinguish the interview with the recruitment consultancy from the interview with the customer company . . .

The recruitment consultancy acts as intermediary.
its role : to meet you and validate your profile with that of the job on offer as defined by the customer.
The role of the consultant is neither to judge you nor condemn you. You can confide in him your hopes, your expectations and constraints should there be any, and expect from him the appropriate advice for you to succeed at interview.

The customer company will validate your know-how and life skills whilst seeking to validate the correlation of these findings with company and internal team culture.

During the customer interview show your interest … ask questions and list these by subject :

  • Job position
  • Size of the service
  • Hierarchy
  • Transverse projects
  • Company environment in general

When is it most appropriate to ask these questions

After your general presentation :

  • Either you wait for the recruiter to invite you to ask questions following his presentation of the job
  • Or the interviewer describes the position only very briefly, meaning he expects you to ask your questions just after his presentation and hence show a spirit of curiosity and motivation.
